Quote:
At Giants OTAs, LB Jon Beason just was carted off the field, according to @HubbuchNYP. That would be bad.

NYG LB Jon Beason has sesamoid fracture in right foot. Surgery required. Expected 12 week recovery, according to someone aware of diagnosis.

12 weeks is right up against the start of the regular season, so Beason could miss a game or a few. Source confirms @KimJonesSports report.

I don't think it's anything serious since he wasn't stretched in the back of the car and he walked on his own power.

If it's an achilles that would really suck. Could be nothing, though. I guess "we'll see".

I'm really hoping it's not, seems like it's not an ACL injury bc he walked off on his own power and wasn't stretched out on a cart
But like you said we will see

UGH! I really hope Beason is able to play this season and it's something that'll heal by Week 1. I'm not a Panthers or Giants fan but Beason really revitalized his career in New York last year and as long as he's healthy I think he'll continue to be a big part of that defense.

Lets just hope being carted off was a precautionary move.

Interior LB's seem to be the taking the worst of OTA's so far.

One of the few recent years the Giants looked to have an adequate linebacker crops, Beason is extremely integral in the on field ability of that unit, and became a locker room leader after being traded to the Giants last year.
He needs to be out there for the Giant's D this season.

People walk off on their own power all the time with ACL injuries.

from what I understand, anything straight line is fine with an ACL tear. Its the cutting/turning that is trouble.

Beason was really the only notable name on their LB corps... unless I missed the memo on Jacquian Williams, Spencer Paysinger, Mark Herzlich, and Jameel McClain
