So... why was he on the market for so long? I thought he was still decent.

Nice depth signing for them.

Because of course they did. The Seahawks-Vikings superhighway is still open.

Age.

Teams tend to look for younger alternatives before signing aging, declining vets.

He is pretty meh as a starter anymore, but I think he could have success on Seattle's line since he wouldnt be a full time starter, and they know how to use DLineman well.

Williams is still a strong run defender but wont offer much in the passing game.

I like this signing for Seattle, much more than when they flirted with Jared Allen.

Williams hasnt played DE since his first year in the league. My guess is that he replaces what Clinton McDonald provided Seattle.

Eh, I could see him playing some end here. He and Tony McDaniel will do what Tony McDaniel and Red did last year.

Williams is not the pass rusher that Clinton was

Its understandable. They had to get their Viking fix in this year.

First with trading with us in the 1st round, and now signing Williams.

Good job keeping up with the status quo Seattle!

I like this signing for Seattle, it makes sense. Quality depth, additional leadership, I've never heard anything bad about him in terms of a 'locker room guy'. He's got a little bit left in the tank, probably not much time left in his career so being able to go to a place that rotates their Dline heavily, which means he'll get equal opportunity to make an impact is in his best interest.

do any two teams exchange picks/players as often as the Seahawks and Vikings do? It seems that ever since we stole Hutch there are multiple swaps on a yearly basis
