Flowers would be a nice piece for the secondary if he can rebound. Chargers going for the all 5'9 team also if so. Laughing Laughing

So far the Raider WR's with the best chance to start/make the team are:

James Jones 6-1 200lbs
Rod Streater 6-3 200lbs
Andre Holmes 6-4 210 lbs
Juron Criner 6-3 221lbs
Brice Butler 6-3 210 lbs
Greg Little 6-2 220 lbs
Denarius Moore 6-0 190 lbs

Twisted Evil

Now they just need to learn how to be good at the sport of football. Laughing

Sounds like much-sought-after CB Brandon Flowers will make a decision on his next team sometime midweek. Plenty of suitors.

Surprised he hasn't signed anywhere, yet.

He seems to be taking his time trying to find the right fit. All accounts the money is secondary to his feel for the team. Strange fellow in today's league where it seems "straight cash" rules all.

Well, he's not testing true FA based on the timing, so maybe he is weighing where he can play well and set himself up for one more good deal? I think things may be a bit different for him if he were actually out in true day 1 money hurricane free agency.

I mean, you really can't blame him, it's the smart thing to do.

Worst case scenario he knows that he, likely has us (Chargers) in his back pocket with a nearly-guaranteed starting position, but we don't exactly present him with an ideal situation (our defense is still questionable on the whole, we don't run a scheme that plays to the utmost of his strengths, and we face a brutal schedule against run-heavy teams next season... as well as Peyton twice).

He doesn't need to be in a rush. With several teams he could be one injury away from walking into a starting spot and a potentially more favorable situation (arguably Detroit would be one of these - and they have already shown interest even sans injury). Training camp is still several weeks off. When camps start he'll likely be with a club within that first week of camp, but there's no reason to rush now - particularly if it's on a 1-year contract (something that may not even necessitate rushing the sale of his home in KC yet, as he could just be turning around and selling again a year or two later at wherever new he ends up).

I totally agree that he is likely looking at a 1 year deal. I don't see him committing long term since most of the money is dried up now. This season is more of a showcase year for him where he needs somewhere he can look good. I want him in SD. He was one of those Chief players that I wanted to see in our colors.

I think he's realized that he's a scheme specific player, and wants to make sure he can play well in that scheme so he can earn his money in the next few years.
