Laughing Laughing

Was one of my favorite picks at the times of selection, so it stings a bit.

I still remember the play he got hurt on. Kick-return, and you could hear the impact as he got hit around the head area. It sounded bad. Thought it was "just" a concussion, though. No clue it was career-ending neck injury, too.

Bugger it all.

I hate the packers, but I don't wish this on anyone. I hope he finds a good career doing something he loves. Good luck Franklin.

Dang... I liked his burst last season, from the little playing time he got. Wish him the best in the future.

It's unfortunate. I wish him the best moving forward with whatever he pursues.

Likely wasn't the injury that was problematic, but what the injury revealed. Big difference. We'll see what McCarthy/Thompson says today when the organization addresses it.

didn't you guys have a WR named Murphy who had the same type of injury? I know there is Finley too, but I'm not sure if his career is over as well.

Either way, thats rough.

Nick Collins comes immediately to mind, too.

Whenever I think of Kick returns, I think of that Ellis Hobbs injury in an Eagles - Giants game.

His neck got compressed so much I thought he was paralyzed

Terrance Murphy in 06 I believe. Nick Collins in 11. Finley in 13. Franklin in 14.

Remains to be seen if Finley could return, but I include his neck fusion nonetheless.

Dang. I liked this selection for the Packers.

Obviously ending his football career but hopefully can continue a normal life outside of the game. Too bad that it had to end this early in such unfortunate circumstances.

Nick Collins, we had a DE/LB named Jeremy Thompson that had a chance to be good.

Sterling Sharpe might have been one of the best all-time and we lost him early. His career stats for being just 29 were insane.

Shame that knuckleheads get to keep playing while a high character guy has his career shortened

Sad reality that the neck to probably the one place you can't protect

Wish him all the best

wow, thats rough.

For as much as I dislike the Packers, I have to sympathize. All these injuries this team deals with each year is so rough. Its crushing to any team especially if its the difference in winning and losing.

It has been absolutely ridiculous. Sad I think we could be so much better if we could keep even half of these guys off the IR. Confused
