Dallas traded 6th-rd pick for LB Rolando McClain and Baltimore's 7th-rd pick, per source. McClain wants to play.

Saw this buzz on my phone and I instantly thought that Jerry has Tourette's and was holding it in really well all off-season, until now.

McClain on 4/21:

Quote:
McClain showed up late for a conditioning test with the Ravens last Tuesday and then failed it. "If football made me complete I would play," he said in a text to ESPN. "But whenever I think of it my heart pulls me away from whatever reason. ... I'm done."

I can taste the desperation

Wow. Mclain, thought he had burnt all his bridges in the NFL, guess not.

You'll be able to count the number of punts forced by the Cowboys' defense this season on one hand.

And I'm talking about punts actually forced by the defense playing well, not the offense making bonehead mistakes.

Yeah, no. This has nothing to do with Ozzie. It has everything to do with the Cowboys organization being just the right mix of desperate and stupid.

So, we get the same value pick for trading Rolando McClain that we do for Anquan Boldin? Does this make Rolando a good signing, because we literally paid him no money?

For the Cowboys, yes obviously they are desperate, but they aren't giving up much draft or cap wise, for this longshot.

We could have released him after he got arrested within a few days of signing, after he retired, after he unretired and couldn't make it through a workout, after he retired again. Ozzie hung on to him until a team was desperate and now there's a very good chance we move from the end of the 7th to the top of the 6th when a conditional 7th is all he should have gone for.

Yeah, what happens if he decides to stay retired? Does that nullify the trade? I didn't see any "conditional" verbiage in there.

Twice! Jerruh has struck again. Cowboys defense goes un drafted un used in fantasy.

The Ravens did well to get what they could get but this will likely be a player and a draft pick (7th) that neither make any difference in the NFL in exchange for a draft pick (6th) that doesn't make any difference in the NFL. While the Ravens seem to win this trade, the gains are so insignificant that I'm not sure it validates any praise.

If this makes one of Ozzy's top 10 moves for the year he had a really bad year.

^^^It doesn't matter if it makes an impact or not. Possibly moving up over 50 picks for pretty much nothing is a great move.
