With the sheer volume of picks the Patriots have this season I wonder if they will prioritize 2018 draft picks, most likely a 2018 1st.

They can't add 10 rookies to an already strong team.

Have you seen how many guys are FA's this year for us?

I know but there is no way he is rolling into the season with 25-30% of the team as rookies.

I wonder if the center piece of the deal will be next years pick.

If he drafts 10 and cuts 4, that's 6 rookies. That's pretty normal for the Pats. Too many draft picks isn't an issue at all.

It's not like they aren't going to take calls on him. I think it's more of a statement that they need a big offer to begin talks, which is pretty much what we all assumed from the start

Going to pat myself on the back, assuming this report is accurate, I never thought he would be traded.

Well if they let Hightower and Ryan go no reason they could not work a deal to secure him. Personally I they get a first and third or fourth I think they take it. And take a guy like Davis Webb deeper in the draft.

I think any Patriot short of maybe Brady would be available for the right price. We have all seen the shocking out of nowhere trades no one was expecting.

Exactly. They need to be literally blown out of the water. Which is totally fine.

There's clearly a plan behind Brady which is a great spot to be in

Either the Pats are running a pump 'n' dump scheme via the media, or they heard something from Brady that contradicted what he's been saying in public.

I'd watch the numbers on a reworked Brady deal. The Pats are on the hook for a whole bunch of dead cap if they trade or release him before 2019, so if those numbers go down considerably, you know something's up

So maybe Brady has decided to retire or happy to be back-up?
