Thirty years after the events of the first Blade Runner, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos. K's discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

Blade Runner is a nearly perfect movie that I never personally loved, but I'm pretty excited for this one.

This looks cool and I actually think it will be good.

A couple of years ago this seemed horrible and completely unnecessary, but with Villenueve/Deakins/Ford/Gosling I like its chances to be good.

Never saw the first one, tried to once and seemed really boring. Love Villenuve though and this looks dope.

I've tried twice and have had a hard time getting through it too.

One of the biggest problems I have with the sequel is that Rutger Hauer's performance in the original was one for the ages. You can't replace that. Tears in the rain...

You can add me to this list. Watched it for a film class and it was probably the movie I struggled with the most. Very few parts of interest or suspense.

I think this movie requires multiple viewings to appreciate. First time I saw it I excepted some type of sci-fi action or suspense stuff, but it wasn't that so I wasn't all that happy. I guess that's why it didn't do well back when it came out, when people see futuristic scenes in the trailer they expect Star Wars. I think it's aged pretty well too, because it was high on substance and low on sci-fi action.

Same for me, tried watching it once and didn't get even half way through.

Samesies. Not saying it's not a good movie, but it's definitely a tough watch.

A lot of movies around that era seem to be slow burns, today's movies are built to catch your attention early and slap in an action beat at least every couple of minutes.

Ryan Gosling is in it and directed by Villeneuve, who's been on fiya.

Hell yeah, I'm seeing this.

Never seen it, but based on the hype that's what I thought it was about all these years. If it's not sci-fi, what exactly is the premise of the film?

of course the original Blade Runner is considered sci-fi.

it's about synthetically manufactured human slaves who violently escape a future off world colony and have to be hunted down on earth. that's definitely sci-fi, don't ya think? Laughing

it's presented in a film noir style though reminiscent of 1940's movies, so that's why it feels different.

Add me as well. I personally never understood the fascination with it.

Boring, terrible dialogue, interesting plot that was very difficult to follow due to the problematic dialogue...next to no suspense or action...and this is coming from a huge Harrison Ford fan.
