Cleveland Browns
Mock Draft #1
1. Cleveland Browns - Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M
12. Cleveland Browns from Philadelphia Eagles - O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama
(33). Cleveland Browns - Jabrill Peppers, SS, Michigan
(52). Cleveland Browns from Tennessee Titans - Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado
(65). Cleveland Browns - Eddie Jackson, FS, Alabama
(108). Cleveland Browns - Cooper Kupp, WR, Eastern Washington

Mock Draft #2
1. Cleveland Browns - Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M
12. Cleveland Browns from Philadelphia Eagles - Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina
(33). Cleveland Browns - TreDavious White, CB, L.S.U.
(52). Cleveland Browns from Tennessee Titans - Caleb Brantley, DT, Florida
(65). Cleveland Browns - Marcus Maye, S, Florida
(108). Cleveland Browns - Teez Tabor, CB, Florida

Analysis: I still look at secondary as the single biggest need the Browns have, but I tried to tone is down a bit from my prior mock drafts. The way I see it, the Browns can either draft a QB and get some offensive weapons in the later rounds in what is a very deep receiver & tight end draft or they can do their best to make themselves “a QB away” and either draft one next year or try to sign a free agent quarterback in 2018 such as Jimmy Garoppolo, Kirk Cousins A.J. McCarron.

San Francisco 49ers
Mock Draft #1
2. San Francisco 49ers - Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford
(34). San Francisco 49ers - Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson
(66). San Francisco 49ers - Fabian Moreau, CB, UCLA
(109). San Francisco 49ers – Jeremy McNichols, RB, Boise State
(143). San Francisco 49ers (Compensatory Selection) – Erik Magnuson, OL, Michigan

Mock Draft #2
2. San Francisco 49ers - Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State
(34). San Francisco 49ers - Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State
(66). San Francisco 49ers - Derek Rivers, DE, Youngstown State
(109). San Francisco 49ers – Josh Reynolds, WR, Texas A&M
(143). San Francisco 49ers (Compensatory Selection) – Connor Harris, ILB, Lindenwood

What prompted me to make the second mock draft in the first place were questions as to whether the 49ers will really draft Solomon Thomas now that they’ve cut their top cornerback. I think it’s entirely possible they will look at Lattimore instead. Either way, cornerback has gone from not being a need for the 49ers to being one. I look at the 49ers and see LEO, cornerback, pass catching running back and comprehensive pass help as the major needs of the 49ers. I think it’s entirely possible the 49ers could draft a QB this year or wait and see if they can lure Kirk Cousins to San Francisco next year, so I wrote the two mock drafts to reflect these two possibilities.

Chicago Bears
Mock Draft #1
3. Chicago Bears - Jamal Adams, SS, LSU
(36). Chicago Bears - Deshone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame
(67). Chicago Bears - Bucky Hodges, TE, Virginia Tech
(111). Chicago Bears - Jarron Jones, DL, Notre Dame
(117). Chicago Bears (from Buffalo Bills) - Josh Reynolds, WR, Texas A&M

Mock Draft #2
3. Chicago Bears - Jonathan Allen, DL, Alabama
(36). Chicago Bears - Deshone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame
(67). Chicago Bears - Adoree Jackson, CB, USC
(111). Chicago Bears - Jordan Leggett, TE, Clemson
(117). Chicago Bears (from Buffalo Bills) - Kendall Beckwith, ILB, BYU

While I understand the Bears need secondary help, I question how much they actually need given how many defensive backs they signed this offseason. I think Adams would be a great selection, but he is not by a lock by any stretch. I think Jonathan Allen is going to fall in the draft like Nick Fairley did, due to a poor combine and medical concerns. But I wanted to write a mock draft where that didn’t happen.
From what I understand, the Bears have expressed quite a bit of interest in drafting a QB and Deshone Kizer specifically. So I have him to the Bears in both mock drafts. Even with the signing of Dion Sims, I think a pass catching tight end is a likely target for the Bears given Zach Miller’s age.

Jacksonville Jaguars
Mock Draft #1
4. Jacksonville Jaguars - Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU
(35). Jacksonville Jaguars - Caleb Brantley, DT, Florida
(68). Jacksonville Jaguars - Tyus Bowser, OLB, Houston
(110). Jacksonville Jaguars – Isaac Asiata, OG, Utah

Mock Draft #2
4. Jacksonville Jaguars - Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU
(35). Jacksonville Jaguars - Dion Dawkins, OL, Temple
(68). Jacksonville Jaguars - Ryan Anderson, OLB, Alabama
(110). Jacksonville Jaguars – D.J. Jones, DT, Mississippi

As much as Jaguars fans might want Solomon Thomas #4, I think Fournette is a lock. Aside from that, I look at #4. Either way, I see defensive tackle, strong side linebacker and offensive guard as the primary remaining needs for the Jaguars. The Jaguars despite their massive amount of cap room have cut some of their defensive starters such as Roy Miller and Dan Skuta without appropriate replacements.

Los Angeles Rams
Mock draft #1
(37). Los Angeles Rams - Quincy Wilson, CB, Florida
(69). Los Angeles Rams - Gerald Everett, TE, South Alabama
(112). Los Angeles Rams - Dede Westbrook, WR, Oklahoma
(141). Los Angeles Rams (Compensatory Selection) – Chase Roullier, C, Wyoming

Mock draft #2
(37). Los Angeles Rams - Evan Engram, TE/WR, Mississippi
(69). Los Angeles Rams - Fabian Moreau, CB, UCLA
(112). Los Angeles Rams - Tyler Orlovsky, C, West Virginia
(141). Los Angeles Rams (Compensatory Selection) – Amara Darboh, WR, Michigan

I think this one is fairly straightforward. The Rams built up an incredible defense over the past five years only to watch and its secondary withered away. They drafted a quarterback #1 overall, but have let arguably the best of the worst receiver corps in the NFL walk and the only person they've added to replace them was Robert Woods. Now, I think Woods could be a decent starter for the Rams, but he is certainly not enough and neither is Tavon "the most overpaid receiver in the NFL" Austin. On the other hand, I think Andrew Whitworth could turn around the Rams offensive line woes. Adding him immediately upgrades two offensive line positions (assuming Saffold or Robinson is willing to play right guard) and could solidify the team's protection of Goff. At least assuming Rob Havenstein returns to his 0 penalties, 0 sacks allowed rookie ways and doesn't repeat his sophmore slump. Just the same, I think even with the addition of John Sullivan, they need more help at center.

New York Jets
Mock Draft #1
6. New York Jets - Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina
(39). New York Jets - TreDavious White, CB, L.S.U.
(70). New York Jets - Carl Lawson, EDGE, Auburn
(107). New York Jets (Compensatory Selection) - Kendell Beckwith, ILB, LSU

Mock Draft #2
6. New York Jets - Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama
(39). New York Jets - Pat Elflein, C, Ohio State
(70). New York Jets – Tim Williams, OLB, Alabama
(107). New York Jets (Compensatory Selection) – Adam Shaheen, TE, Ashland

I’m not a fan of Trubisky. I don’t think he is worth a top ten pick and I think he could very easily end up as the next Mark Sanchez in New York. He is a quarterback with questionable deep accuracy who was taken at the top of the draft despite only one year of starting experience. But the Jets strike me as a team that does not learn from its mistakes at all. I think injury concerns combined with a strong year for edge rushers could push Carl Lawson to the late second or early third round. He had an impressive combine, but several edge rushers had an impressive combine such as Jordan Willis and Derek Rivers. For my alternate mock draft though, I wanted to create a mock draft that illustrates the possibility of the Jets passing on selecting a defensive back entirely, even though secondary is arguably their top need in what is a very good DB draft. Because I look at the Jets as the kind of team to do something like that.

San Diego Chargers

Mock draft #1
7. Los Angeles Chargers - Malik Hooker, FS, Ohio State
(38). Los Angeles Chargers - Dion Dawkins, OL, Temple
(71). Los Angeles Chargers - Curtis Samuel, RB/WR, Ohio State
(113). Los Angeles Chargers - Damontae Kazee, CB, San Diego State

Mock draft #2
7. Los Angeles Chargers - Malik Hooker, FS, Ohio State
(38). Los Angeles Chargers - Dan Feeney, G, Stanford
(71). Los Angeles Chargers - Rasul Douglas, CB, West Virginia
(113). Los Angeles Chargers - Chad Hansen, WR, California

I think Malik Hooker is the ballhawking deep safety the Chargers’ cover three defense needs to make it work. But in truth, it's possible I'm letting that color my expectations of what the Chargers are going to do. I have not seen anything to indicate they have had any pre-draft contact with Hooker OR Adams and it's entirely possible they will go in another direction such as Jonathan Allen in the first round and try to get someone like Josh Jones or John Johnson later on. Yes they didn't have any private workouts with Joey Bosa last year, but they at least had some contact with him prior to his pro day. I have seen no evidence of that regarding Malik Hooker.
Aside from that, I really only see a replacement for D.J. Fluker as the Chargers main need with many lesser needs they could address. While they have a top ten pick, it's tough to pin down what the Chargers really "need" since so many of the holes last few years were injury related. In both mock drafts, I had the Chargers drafting a corner in the mid rounds, but it is entirely possible the Chargers may feel that’s not a big enough need to address this year. I think Curtis Samuel would give Phillip Rivers the multi-faceted weapon he lost when the Chargers let Woodhead go, but one that can split out wide and one with significantly more speed. The Chargers could go in any number of other directions though. Maybe they feel now is the time to start looking for a replacement for Phillip Rivers. Maybe they think they need more of a primary receiver given how fragile Keenan Allen is.

Carolina Panthers
Mock Draft #1
8. Carolina Panthers - Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford
(40). Carolina Panthers - John Ross, WR, Washington
(64). Carolina Panthers from New England Patriots - Taylor Moton, OL, Western Michigan
(98). Carolina Panthers (Compensatory Selection) - Josh Johnson, S, Boston College
(115). Carolina Panthers - Corn Elder, CB, Miami

Mock Draft #2
8. Carolina Panthers - Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford
(40). Carolina Panthers - Obi Melifonwu, S, Connecticut
(64). Carolina Panthers from New England Patriots - D’onta Foreman, RB, Texas
(98). Carolina Panthers (Compensatory Selection) - Dede Westbrook, WR, Oklahoma
(115). Carolina Panthers - Will Holden, OL, Vanderbilt

Make no mistake, if you’re a Carolina fan and you’re thinking Christian McCaffrey is a reach at #8…. I completely agree with you. I don't see how a committee back could be worth a top ten pick. Yes, he gives whichever team drafts him a multi-faceted weapon who can run despite his lack of size and an ability to be a playmaking slot receiver. Every time I hear how he can play in the slot, you know what I'm reminded of? The most overhyped running back in draft history: Reggie Bush. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t going to pick him. That is a thing that happens from time to time and it seems like the Panthers are very intent on drafting a running back.

Cincinnati Bengals

Mock Draft #1
9. Cincinnati Bengals - Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama
(41). Cincinnati Bengals - Cam Robinson, OL, Alabama
(73). Cincinnati Bengals - Tanoh Kpassagnon, DE, Villanova
(116). Cincinnati Bengals – Daeshon Hall, DE, Texas A&M
(138). Cincinnati Bengals (Compensatory Selection) - Amara Darboh, WR, Michigan

Mock Draft #2
9. Cincinnati Bengals - Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan
(41). Cincinnati Bengals - Demarcus Walker, DE, Florida State
(73). Cincinnati Bengals - Alex Anzalone, LB, Florida
(116). Cincinnati Bengals – Isaac Asiata, OG, Utah
(138). Cincinnati Bengals (Compensatory Selection) - Julie'n Davenport, OT, Bucknell

I think the first mock draft makes a lot of sense for the Bengals based on their draft tendencies and current needs. They need serious help on their defensive line and they tend towards taller defensive ends. Kpassagnon is 6’7 and Hall is 6’6. They also have shown a willingness to address a single position multiple times in the draft. Howver….. it’s the Bengals. They’re impossible to predict. A.J. Green, Corey Davis, Tyler Boyd and Tyler Eifert would be a nightmare to defend. Yes they resigned Brandon Lafell but they can cut him with no dead money after this season.

Buffalo Bills

Mock draft #1
10. Buffalo Bills - Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan
(44). Buffalo Bills - Desmond King, CB, Iowa
(75). Buffalo Bills - Alex Anzalone, LB, Florida

Mock draft #2
10. Buffalo Bills - Marlon Humphries, CB, Alabama
(44). Buffalo Bills - Zay Jones, WR, Eastern Carolina
(75). Buffalo Bills - Duke Riley, LB, LSU

As you can probably tell, I think the Bills’ major needs are cornerback, wide receiver and weakside linebacker and I think they could address those three in pretty much any order. Reuben Foster at #10 is a possibility for the Bills if he falls that far, but I'm only doing two mock drafts here. If I were to write a third, it would have Reuben Foster at #10.

New Orleans Saints
Mock Draft #1
New Orleans Saints
11. New Orleans Saints - Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee
32. New Orleans Saints from New England Patriots - Kevin King, CB, Washington
(42). New Orleans Saints - Obi Melifonwu, S, Connecticut
(76). New Orleans Saints - Chris Godwin, WR, Penn State
(103). New Orleans Saints from New England Patriots from Cleveland Browns (Compensatory Selection) - Adam Shaheen, TE, Ashland

Mock Draft #2
11. New Orleans Saints - O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama
32. Traded to New England for Malcolm Butler
(42). New Orleans Saints - Curtis Samuel, RB/WR, Ohio State
(76). New Orleans Saints - Tarrell Basham, DE, Iowa
(103). New Orleans Saints from New England Patriots from Cleveland Browns (Compensatory Selection) - Howard Wilson, CB, Houston

Now, a couple of weeks ago, I got into an argument with some of the Saints fan on this forum. I (in error) refused to admit I knew nothing about the Saints. Well, I am here now to rectify that error and admit I know absolutely nothing about the Saints and have never ever watched them play. Unfortunately, this mock draft likely reflects this reality. In truth, I used a “dartboard” approach, where I put some names on a dartboard and went with whatever names I hit. I certainly hope these picks would help the San Antonio Saints win more games next season in the Alamodome, led by their future hall of fame quarterback Drew Bledsoe and longtime head coach Walter Payton. :P

Philadelphia Eagles

Mock Draft #1
14. Philadelphia Eagles from Minnesota Vikings - Marlon Humphries, CB, Alabama
(43). Philadelphia Eagles - Cordrea Tankersley, CB, Clemson
(99). Philadelphia Eagles from Baltimore Ravens (Compensatory Selection) - Marlon Mack, RB, South Florida
(118). Philadelphia Eagles - Eddie Vanderdoes, DT, UCLA
(139). Philadelphia Eagles (from Browns) (Compensatory Selection) – Delano Hill, S, Michigan

Mock Draft #2
14. Philadelphia Eagles from Minnesota Vikings - John Ross, WR, Washington
(43). Philadelphia Eagles - Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado
(99). Philadelphia Eagles from Baltimore Ravens (Compensatory Selection) - Ahkello Witherspoon, CB, Colorado
(118). Philadelphia Eagles - Wayne Gallman, RB, Clemson
(139). Philadelphia Eagles (from Browns) (Compensatory Selection) – Tedric Thompson, S, Colorado

So it’s pretty clear the Eagles desperately need cornerback help. They let both starters go and only signed Patrick Robinson this offseason. As unfathomable as it is to believe, I think it’s entirely possible (although I certainly wouldn’t bet money on it) that the Eagles won’t draft one in the first round. As far as I know, the Eagles have met with John Ross four times this offseason. If that’s not interest, I don’t know what is.

Arizona Cardinals
Mock Draft #1
13. Arizona Cardinals - Jonathan Allen, DL, Alabama
(45). Arizona Cardinals - Adoree Jackson, CB, USC
(77). Arizona Cardinals - Anthony Walker Jr, ILB, Northwestern
(119). Arizona Cardinals - Danny Isidora, OG, Miami

Mock Draft #2
13. Arizona Cardinals - Patrick Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech
(45). Arizona Cardinals - Marcus Williams, FS, Utah
(77). Arizona Cardinals - Chris Wormley, DL, Michigan
(119). Arizona Cardinals - Blair Brown, ILB, Ohio

The fact of the matter is, the Cardinals have significantly more draft needs than they do draft picks in the first four rounds. At least one or possibly multiple needs are going to be neglected simply by the mathematics. I wanted to give the Cardinals a wide receiver somewhere considering J.J. Nelson is the only receiver on the Cardinals who isn't entering a contract year, but I couldn't justify it. It seems everyone thinks the Cardinals are going to take Pat Mahomes at #13. I think that would be a fairly huge reach, but I felt the need to reflect the rumors in at least one of the mock drafts, so I chose the alternate. As for Marcus Williams, the reasons I selected him in the second round of the alternate mock when on paper it seems like free safety is a non-need for the Cardinals....
1. As great as he is, Tyrann Mathieu does not seem to be able to stay healthy and his contract has an out for the Cardinals if they want to cut their losses after the 2017 regular season. Speaking of people who don't seem able to stay healthy, neither does Tyvon Branch, who has played more than half the season exactly once in the past four years.
2. Because Tyrann Mathieu is a free safety in name only. The dude lines up all over the place. Slot corner, free safety and strong safety. He's their free safety in their base 3-4 formation, but how frequently do the Cardinals use their base 3-4 formation? He's much more comfortable in a safety slot role and having a deep safety like Williams would allow him to do that.
3. Because I wanted to try out certain things in the alternate mock draft and one of them was Tampa not selecting a safety in the first four rounds. I can't justify them passing on Marcus Williams in the second round so I had to make sure he was off the board before he got to them and I don't think Washington would draft him after signing D.J. Swearinger to a multi-year contract with a decent amount of guaranteed money in 2018. Sorry, but I did take certain things like that into my thought process.

Minnesota Vikings
Mock Draft #1
(48). Minnesota Vikings - Dorian Johnson, OL, Pittsburgh
(79). Minnesota Vikings - Larry Ogunjobi, DT, North Carolina Charlotte
(86). Minnesota Vikings from Miami Dolphins - Duke Riley, LB, LSU
(120). Minnesota Vikings - Kareem Hunt, RB, Toledo
(128). Minnesota Vikings (from Miami Dolphins) - Adam Bisnowaty, OT, Pittsburgh

Mock Draft #2
(48). Minnesota Vikings - Malik McDowell, DL, Michigan State
(79). Minnesota Vikings - Samaje Perine, RB, Oklahoma
(86). Minnesota Vikings from Miami Dolphins - Ethan Pocic, OL, LSU
(120). Minnesota Vikings - Elijah Lee, LB, Kansas State
(128). Minnesota Vikings (from Miami Dolphins) - Corn Elder, CB, Miami

So I look at the Vikings as a team that needs a running back to team with Latavius Murray, a defensive tackle to… possibly (but I hope not) replace Shariff Floyd if he is forced to retire, a weakside linebacker to replace Chad Greenway and linemen to continue rebuilding the Vikings interior line and someone to make sure T.J. Clemmings never sees the field for the Vikings again. Just the same, I couldn't do two four round mocks and not at least acknowledge the possibility the VIkings will draft a cornerback. If I write multiple simultaneous mock drafts like this again next year, I'm sure at least one of them will have the Bengals drafting a cornerback in the first round. It's what they do.

Indianapolis Colts
Mock draft #1
15. Indianapolis Colts - Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State
(46). Indianapolis Colts - Alvin Kamara, RB, Tennessee
(80). Indianapolis Colts - Roderick Johnson, OT, Florida State
(121). Indianapolis Colts - Trey Hendrickson, EDGE, Florida Atlantic
(137). Indianapolis Colts (from New England Patriots) – Connor Harris, ILB, Lindenwood
(144). Indianapolis Colts (Compensatory Selection) – Jadar Johnson, FS, Clemson

Mock Draft #2
15. Indianapolis Colts - Haasan Reddick, LB, Temple
(46). Indianapolis Colts - Cordrea Tankersley, CB, Clemson
(80). Indianapolis Colts - Marlon Mack, RB, South Florida
(121). Indianapolis Colts - Daeshon Hall, DE/OLB, Texas A&M
(137). Indianapolis Colts (from New England Patriots) - Adam Bisnowaty, OT, Pittsburgh
(144). Indianapolis Colts (Compensatory Selection) – Rayshawn Jenkins, S, Miami

Given how talent deficient they are, the Colts could draft just about anything on defense (other than nose tackle thanks to the Hankins signing) and it would make total sense. They need help at running back and their offensive line, but with half a dozen picks in the first four rounds, they have more than enough to address both positions and still overhaul their defense.

Baltimore Ravens
Mock Draft #1
16. Baltimore Ravens - Mike Williams, WR, Clemson
(47). Baltimore Ravens - Charles Harris, EDGE, Missouri
(74). Baltimore Ravens from Philadelphia Eagles - Chris Wormley, DL, Michigan
(78). Baltimore Ravens - Will Holden, OL, Vanderbilt
(122). Baltimore Ravens - Tyler Orlosky, C, West Virginia

Mock Draft #2
16. Baltimore Ravens - Cam Robinson, OL, Alabama
(47). Baltimore Ravens - T.J. Watt, OLB, Wisconsin
(74). Baltimore Ravens from Philadelphia Eagles - Tanoh Kpassagnon, DE, Villanova
(78). Baltimore Ravens - Chris Godwin, WR, Penn State
(122). Baltimore Ravens - Chase Rouillier, C, Wyoming

I don’t think the Ravens need to draft a replacement for Timmy Jernigan per say, but I thought Kpassagnon or Wormley provided decent value in the mid third round. The Ravens picked the wrong year to have major needs on their offensive line. Edge rushers or wide receivers are a completely different story. As much effort as the Ravens have made to find deep threats for Flacco to howitzer the ball to, everyone seems to have forgotten that a big part of what made that Superbowl winning offense work was Anquan Boldin. I think the Ravens need a physical receiver to provide a complement to all of the speedy wide receivers they already have. The Ravens let go of Elvis Dumervill this past offseason leaving 34 year old Terrell Suggs as the Ravens primary edge rusher. Wherever they take one, they need to draft another edge rusher and a good one at that.

Washington Redskins
Mock Draft #1
17. Washington Redskins - Haasan Reddick, LB, Temple
(49). Washington Redskins - D’onta Foreman, RB, Texas
(81). Washington Redskins - Ethan Pocic, OL, LSU
(114). Washington Redskins (from New York Jets) - Dalvin Tomlinson, NT, Alabama
(123). Washington Redskins - Chad Hansen, WR, California

Mock Draft #2
17. Washington Redskins - Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford
(49). Washington Redskins - Taylor Moton, OL, Western Michigan
(81). Washington Redskins - Eddie Vanderdoes, DT, UCLA
(114). Washington Redskins (from New York Jets) - Jourdan Lewis, CB, Michigan
(123). Washington Redskins - Nazair Jones, DL, North Carolina

So I'm a bit up in the air as far as Washington went. To me, their two major needs are a nose tackle and a running back. I expect them to address running back early and nose tackle in the mid rounds, but otherwise I think they could go in a bunch of different directions. This is a team that is looking at a massive amount of turnover after this year and your guess is as good as mine who they will try to find replacements ahead of time for. One thing I do want to comment on is D'onta Foreman. He is not someone I was a fan of. I looked at him as the next Ron Dayne. Someone who was supposed to be a power back, but played more like a speed back without the speed. Then he ran a 4.45 40 at 230+ lbs. Now I think it's entirely possible he could make that work where Dayne for the most part couldn't. I strongly considered leaving Jourdan Lewis completely out of the second mock draft considering his impending court case to reflect the possibility he could fall completely out of the draft, but ultimately I ended up not doing it. If I thought the Redskins needed an edge rusher at all, I would have gone through with it.

Tennessee Titans
Mock draft #1
5. Tennessee Titans from Los Angeles Rams - Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State
18. Tennessee Titans - David Njoku, TE, Miami
(83). Tennessee Titans - Juju Smith Schuster, WR, USC
(100). Tennessee Titans from Los Angeles Rams (Compensatory Selection) - Carlos Watkins, DL, Clemson (124). Tennessee Titans – Dawune Smoot, EDGE, Illinois

Mock Draft #2
5. Tennessee Titans from Los Angeles Rams - Jamal Adams, SS, LSU
18. Tennessee Titans - Mike Williams, WR, Clemson
(83). Tennessee Titans - Cameron Sutton, CB, Tennessee
(100). Tennessee Titans from Los Angeles Rams (Compensatory Selection) - Jake Butt, TE, Michigan
(124). Tennessee Titans – Jarron Jones, DL, Notre Dame

So despite how the season ended, I think Marcus Mariota took great strides last season and really established himself as a future star in the NFL. A huge part of that was the Titans really improving their offensive line and run game. I think now is the time for the Titans to complete that puzzle and get Mariota some more targets to throw to. From what I’ve seen, I don’t think Marshon Lattimore would make it past the Titans. The question is if he makes it *to* the Titans and what they do if he doesn’t. I’ve heard Jamal Adams referred to as an in the box safety and I don’t agree with that one bit. I think he’s much more versatile than that and someone who can play either safety spot at a high level, although he isn’t quite the ballhawk Malik Hooker is. He would give the Titans the ability to run three safety sets fairly frequently or switch between free safety on early downs and strong safety in passing situations where Jonathan Cyprien might be more of a liability. After cutting Jason McCourty, it may be a stretch to think the Titans will pass entirely on a cornerback in the first round especially with Gareon Conley still on the board; but if I made that change, then Mike Williams falls entirely out of the first round of the alternate mock and I don't think that is going to happen.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Mock Draft #1
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Budda Baker, FS, Washington
(50). Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Evan Engram, TE/WR, Mississippi
(84). Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Tim Williams, EDGE, Alabama
(125). Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Teez Tabor, CB, Florida

Mock Draft #2
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - David Njoku, TE, Miami
(50). Tampa Bay Buccaneers - D’onta Foreman, RB, Texas
(84). Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Roderick Johnson, OT, Florida State
(125). Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Damontae Kazee, CB, San Diego State

A lot of people have Tampa drafting a safety early and I certainly reflected that in my primary mock draft, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t. Having signed J.J. Wilcox and surprisingly resigned Chris Conte, I think Tampa may wait until day three and draft someone like Xavier Woods, Rayshawn Jenkins, Tedric Thompson or Delano Hill in the later rounds. With the contract status and age of Brent Grimes as well as a lack of depth following the release of Alterraun Verner, I wouldn’t be surprised if cornerback didn't turn out to be the bigger need for the Bucs. Grimes is only signed through 2017 and at his age, the Bucs could be looking for a replacement.

Denver Broncos
Mock Draft #1
20. Denver Broncos - Ryan Ramczyk, OT, Wisconsin
(51). Denver Broncos - Montravius Adams, DT, Auburn
(82). Denver Broncos - Jake Butt, TE, Michigan
(101). Denver Broncos (Compensatory Selection) - Carlos Henderson, WR/KR, Louisiana Tech
(126). Denver Broncos - Wayne Gallman, RB, Clemson

Mock Draft #2
20. Denver Broncos - Garett Bolles, OT, Utah
(51). Denver Broncos - Bucky Hodges, TE, Virginia Tech
(82). Denver Broncos - Jaleel Johnson, DL, Iowa
(101). Denver Broncos (Compensatory Selection) - Ardarius Stewart, WR, Alabama
(126). Denver Broncos - Brian Hill, RB, Wyoming

I apologize for the laziness of addressing basically the exact same positions in essentially the same order. Given how their offseason has gone, I don’t think the Broncos can afford to wait past their first pick to address left tackle. I think poor offensive line play is what held their team back last year and while Ronald Leary is a great start, the Broncos have not addressed left or right tackle despite desperately needing to. Even through the Broncos signed Jared Crick and drafted Adam Gotsis to replace Malik Jackson, the Broncos’ defensive line struggled badly this past year and I would be surprised if they got out of day two without addressing that.

Detroit Lions
Mock Draft #1
21. Detroit Lions - Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan
(53). Detroit Lions - Raekwon Mcmillan, LB, Ohio State
(85). Detroit Lions - Cameron Sutton, CB, Tennessee
(127). Detroit Lions - ArDarius Stewart, WR, Alabama

Mock Draft #2
21. Detroit Lions - Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee
(53). Detroit Lions - Jarrad Davis, ILB, Florida
(85). Detroit Lions - Carlos Henderson, WR/KR, Louisiana Tech
(127). Detroit Lions - Shaquille Griffin, DB, Central Florida

Not much to say about this one: It’s pretty clear I think the Lions top needs are defensive end, linebacker, slot receiver and cornerback. They seem to have quite a bit of interest in Taco Charlton (local college team at a need position after all), but if Barnett fell to them, I don't think they could pass on him.

Miami Dolphins
Mock Draft #1
22. Miami Dolphins - Dan Feeney, G, Stanford
(54). Miami Dolphins - Jordan Willis, DE, Kansas State
(97). Miami Dolphins (Compensatory Selection) - Justin Evans, S, Texas A&M

Mock Draft #2
22. Miami Dolphins - Forest Lamp, OL, Western Kentucky
(54). Miami Dolphins - Josh Jones, S, North Carolina State
(97). Miami Dolphins (Compensatory Selection) - Elijah Qualls, DT, Washington

The Leonte Carroo trade really screwed the Dolphins over trying to fill their needs through the draft this year. The Dolphins only have Jermon Bushrod at guard and he is arguably the worst starting guard in the NFL. But given their needs on defense, I don’t think they can afford to double up on interior linemen. Aside from that, your guess is as good as mine as to what else they will address. I think just about everything aside from undertackle, middle linebacker and free safety is an option. Having let Earl Mitchell go to San Francisco, defensive tackle is a possibility, but so is defensive end given Cameron Wake’s age. They waived strong safety Isa Abdul-Quddus due to injury and I don’t think Nate Allen and the unlikely-to-play T.J, McDonald are suitable replacements.

New York Giants
Mock Draft #1
23. New York Giants - Garett Bolles, OT, Utah
(55). New York Giants - Malik McDowell, DL, Michigan State
(87). New York Giants – Davis Webb, QB, California
(140). New York Giants – Brian Hill, RB, Wyoming

Mock Draft #2
23. New York Giants - Zach Cunningham, ILB, Vanderbilt
(55). New York Giants - Montravius Adams, DT, Auburn
(87). New York Giants - Antonio Garcia, OT, Troy
(140). New York Giants – Brad Kaaya, QB, Miami

One of the things I wanted to do with these mocks drafts was have one where I projected what I think could happen if the Giants weren't able to resign Johnathan Hankins and one where they did. But since Hankins signed with the Colts, I changed it so the Giants were drafting a defensive tackle in both drafts. Prior to the change, I had projected Taylor Moton to the Giants in the second and Jake Butt in the third of the alternate mock. If I had written a third mock draft, I would probably do one where the Giants drafted David Njoku in the first round (he's a top 20 pick in both mocks so he didn't make to the Giants in much the same way Leonard Floyd and Jack Conklin didn't) and they didn't draft OL at all in the first four rounds. I have the Giants drafting a left tackle in all of my mocks, but I think it's a very real possibility they may just go with what they've got at o-line now that they've resigned John Jerry and signed D.J. Fluker.

Oakland Raiders
Mock Draft #1
24. Oakland Raiders - Zach Cunningham, ILB, Vanderbilt
(56). Oakland Raiders - Demarcus Walker, DE, Florida State
(88). Oakland Raiders - Jaleel Johnson, DT, Iowa
(129). Oakland Raiders – Malachi Dupre, WR, LSU

Mock Draft #2
24. Oakland Raiders - Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State
(56). Oakland Raiders - Charles Harris, DE, Missouri
(88). Oakland Raiders - Anthony Walker Jr, LB, Northwestern
(129). Oakland Raiders – Vincent Taylor, DT, Oklahoma State

I had originally wanted to do this in such a way where one mock draft had the Raiders trading for Marshawn Lynch and one where they didn't. Initially I had (can't remember which) one of the mock drafts where they selected Wayne Gallman or Jeremy McNichols in round three. But as time went on, the Marshawn Lynch trade seems more likely so I decided to abandon the "not trading for Marshawn Lynch" idea. I think slot receiver is a possibility in the mid rounds for the Raiders, but they might just go with Seth Roberts in the slot and a heavier focus on TE's in the passing game now that they've signed Jared Cook. If I have one regret with these, it's that neither mock drafts features a safety, which i think is a definite possibility for the Raiders.

Houston Texans
Mock Draft #1
25. Houston Texans - Patrick Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech
(57). Houston Texans - Josh Jones, S, North Carolina State
(89). Houston Texans - D.J. Jones, DT, Mississippi
(130). Houston Texans - David Sharpe, OL, Florida
(142). Houston Texans (from Cleveland Browns) (Compensatory Selection) – Jalen Myrick, CB, Minnesota

Mock Draft #2
25. Houston Texans - Jabrill Peppers, SS, Michigan
(57). Houston Texans - Davis Webb, QB, California
(89). Houston Texans - Dalvin Tomlinson, DT, Alabama
(130). Houston Texans - Zach Banner, OL, USC
(142). Houston Texans (from Cleveland Browns) (Compensatory Selection) – Vince Biegel, OLB, Wisconsin

Man, I do not envy the QB situation in Houston right now. I think Webb may actually be my favorite QB in this class after the performance he put on in the Senior bowl, but I highly doubt any quarterback in the 2017 draft is ready for prime time and if there's one team that is desperate enough to try, it's Houston. Everyone is so focused on quarterback situation in Houston, they don't seem to have noticed the Texans just lost one of the best nose tackles to ever play the game due to retirement and that's something they need to address just as much as QB in my opinion. Cornerback on the other hand is a completely different story. A.J. Bouye may have been the top free agent cornerback this year, but there is a reason the Texans were so willing to let him walk. With Jonathan Joseph, Kareem Jackson and Kevin Johnson still on the roster, I think cornerback is at best a mid round need for the Texans, and mostly just for depth.

Seattle Seahawks
Mock Draft #1
26. Seattle Seahawks - Antonio Garcia, OT, Troy
(58). Seattle Seahawks - Joe Mixon, RB, Oklahoma
(90). Seattle Seahawks - Rasul Douglas, CB, West Virginia
(102). Seattle Seahawks (Compensatory Selection) - Eliajah Qualls, DT, Washington
(106). Seattle Seahawks (Compensatory Selection) - Shaquille Griffin, DB, Central Florida

Mock Draft #2
26. Seattle Seahawks - Ryan Ramczyk, OT, Wisconsin
(58). Seattle Seahawks - Desmond King, CB, Iowa
(90). Seattle Seahawks - Larry Ogunjobi, DT, North Carolina Charlotte
(102). Seattle Seahawks (Compensatory Selection) - John Johnson, S, Boston College
(106). Seattle Seahawks (Compensatory Selection) – Jeremy McNichols, RB, Boise State

This was another team I feel like I was a bit lazy in terms of draft position. Both drafts start with a left tackle, have two defensive backs, a running back and a defensive tackle. As with my prior mock draft, the Seahawks tend to make oddball selections with their first pick and I wanted to reflect that possibility in my mock draft so I gave them Antonio Garcia in the first round even though no one really views him as a first round prospect. I also considered putting Roderick Johnson there just to change it up a bit. After selecting Frank Clark in the second round, it's clear the Seahawks are willing to draft someone with "domestic issues" in their past. And the 10 sacks Clark put up in his second year has also illustrated that it can pay dividends for them.

Kansas City Chiefs
Mock Draft #1
27. Kansas City Chiefs - Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State
(59). Kansas City Chiefs - Zay Jones, WR, Eastern Carolina
(91). Kansas City Chiefs - Nico Siragusa, G, San Jose State
(104). Kansas City Chiefs (Compensatory Selection) - Jourdan Lewis, CB, Michigan
(132). Kansas City Chiefs - Brad Kaaya, QB, Miami

Mock Draft #2
27. Kansas City Chiefs - Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson
(59). Kansas City Chiefs - Joe Mixon, RB, Oklahoma
(91). Kansas City Chiefs - Juju Smith Schuster, WR, USC
(104). Kansas City Chiefs (Compensatory Selection) - Sidney Jones, CB, Washington
(132). Kansas City Chiefs - Danny Isidora, G, Miami

I fully admit I may be significantly overestimating how much the Chiefs need a wide receiver and to be honest, they allowed me a buffer to prevent certain wide receivers from falling well further than they should. I really don't think Zay Jones is going to fall out of the second round and the Chiefs basically provided a convenient option. Likewise, even though I'm not a fan of USC receivers as draft prospects, I don't think Juju Smith Schuster is going to fall out of day two. So they both ended up on the Chiefs in their respective mock drafts. The way I figure it, Kansas City has an underperforming Jeremy Maclin slated to make $13.4 million next year and drafting a replacement now might not be the worst idea, especially given how deep this draft is at wide receiver. The Chiefs are a value oriented team, and I think there are much better options at receiver than inside linebacker this year.

I'm just going to say this now, I'm not as high on Kizer as other Chiefs..... fan on this forum. If it weren't for the interest Chicago apparently has in him, I might be mocking him to Arizona, Houston, Washington, or New York in the second round. After drafting a very productive Tyreek Hill last year, I would expect the Chiefs to end up with either Dalvin Cook or Joe Mixon. Both are supremely talented running backs but could scare some teams off with their.... off the field issues. The Chiefs have not shied away from players like that and it has paid off handsomely for them.

Dallas Cowboys
Mock Draft #1
28. Dallas Cowboys - Takkarrist McKinley, DE, UCLA
(60). Dallas Cowboys - Marcus Maye, S, Florida
(92). Dallas Cowboys - Ahkello Witherspoon, CB, Colorado
(133). Dallas Cowboys - Jeremy Sprinkle, TE, Arkansas

Mock Draft #2
28. Dallas Cowboys - Kevin King, CB, Washington
(60). Dallas Cowboys - Jordan Willis, EDGE, Kansas State
(92). Dallas Cowboys - Justin Evans, S, Texas A&M
(133). Dallas Cowboys - George Kittle, TE, Iowa

The way I see it, the Cowboys need a strong safety, a cornerback and a pass rusher. Your guess is as good as mine in which order they will address those needs. I tried to go with who I thought fit the Cowboys defense or people I've seen evidence they have an interest in.

Green Bay Packers
Mock Draft #1
29. Green Bay Packers - T.J. Watt, LB, Wisconsin
(61). Green Bay Packers - Pat Elflein, C/G, Ohio State
(93). Green Bay Packers - Howard Wilson, CB, Houston
(134). Green Bay Packers - James Conner, RB, Pittsburgh

Mock Draft #2
Green Bay Packers
29. Green Bay Packers - Quincy Wilson, CB, Florida
(61). Green Bay Packers - Carl Lawson, EDGE, Auburn
(93). Green Bay Packers - Nico Siragusa, G, San Jose State
(134). Green Bay Packers - Josh Malone, WR, Tennessee

I think it's pretty clear I think the Packers need help at linebacker, cornerback and interior line after they let Julius Peppers, Micah Hyde, T.J. Lang and JC Tretter walk. I think James Conner could be a great fit for the Packers. He's a power runner who showed he was also a threat as a receiver out of the backfield. Sound like anyone who recently left the Packers?

Pittsburgh Steelers
Mock Draft #1
30. Pittsburgh Steelers - Jarrad Davis, ILB, Florida
(62). Pittsburgh Steelers - Derek Rivers, EDGE, Youngstown State
(94). Pittsburgh Steelers - Sidney Jones, CB, Washington
(105). Pittsburgh Steelers (Compensatory Selection) - Jordan Leggett, TE, Clemson
(135). Pittsburgh Steelers – Nathan Peterman, QB, Pittsburgh

Mock Draft #2
30. Pittsburgh Steelers - Takkarrist McKinley, OLB, UCLA
(62). Pittsburgh Steelers - Raekwon Mcmillan, ILB, Ohio State
(94). Pittsburgh Steelers - Gerald Everett, TE, South Alabama
(105). Pittsburgh Steelers (Compensatory Selection) - Eddie Jackson, S, Alabama
(135). Pittsburgh Steelers – Nathan Peterman, QB, Pittsburgh

I'll be honest. I originally had Howard Wilson as the comp pick for the Steelers in the second mock draft, but I felt as though the two mocks were too similar for the Steelers, so I switched corner with safety in the alternate.

Atlanta Falcons
Mock Draft #1
31. Atlanta Falcons - Forrest Lamp, OG, Western Kentucky
(63). Atlanta Falcons - Marcus Williams, FS, Utah
(95). Atlanta Falcons - Tarell Basham, DE, Ohio
(136). Atlanta Falcons – Nazair Jones, DT, North Carolina

Mock Draft #2
31. Atlanta Falcons - Budda Baker, FS, Washington
(63). Atlanta Falcons - Dorian Johnson, G, Pittsburgh
(95). Atlanta Falcons - Carlos Watkins, DT, Clemson
(136). Atlanta Falcons – Trey Hendrickson, DE, Florida Atlantic

So as far as I can tell, the top needs for the Falcons are right guard, free safety, another pass rusher and strong side linebacker. However, pickins' are slim at strong side linebacker this year, so I think it's something the Falcons may just deal with. Instead, I think the Falcons could target defensive tackle help considering how many of their current defensive tackles/defensive ends who move inside on occasion are slated to hit free agency next year. I had Dan Feeney to the Falcons in my early mock drafts , but I haven't projected that recently mostly to vary things up as best as I can. But I do still think Feeney is a very likely possibility for the Falcons at #31.

New England Patriots
Mock Draft #1
(72). New England Patriots From Carolina Panthers - Ryan Anderson, OLB, Alabama
(96). New England Patriots - Samaje Perine, RB, Oklahoma
(131). New England Patriots (from Seattle Seahawks) – George Kittle, TE, Iowa

Mock Draft #2
32. New England Patriots from New Orleans Saints from New England Patriots - Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan
(72). New England Patriots From Carolina Panthers - Tyus Bowser, OLB, Houston
(96). New England Patriots - Cooper Kupp, WR, Eastern Washington
(131). New England Patriots (from Seattle Seahawks) – James Conner, RB, Pittsburgh

The Patriots were a tough one for me to write a mock draft for simply because I think they're set. They don't really many if any immediate needs through the draft. Basically I figure their top needs (if you can call them that) are a power running back and a strong side linebacker to replace 33 year old Rob Ninkovich. Aside from that, I could see them going in just about any direction. They traded for Kony Ealy, but given how little they gave up for him, it's entirely possible he will just be a rotational player. Julian Edelman is entering his contract year and at his age, maybe the Patriots want to keep him and maybe they don't. Edelman will be 32 by the time the 2018 season starts and 32 is the age the Patriots let Wes Welker walk. Maybe they'll look for a replacement. The Patriots have arguably the best tight end to ever play in Rob Gronkowski. But he's shown himself to be very injury prone going all the way back to college. They had Martellus Bennett but he left via free agency for greener *rimshot* pastures and to replace him they traded for Dwayne Allen. But Allen has a fairly significant injury history himself and not guaranteed money past this season. I think it's possible they look for a third tight end, although the fourth round may be too early for that. Just the same, you can never count out the Patriots propensity to draft tight ends.

Excellent work man.

I was gonna comment on WR for the Chiefs but you covered that, and I really don't mind either one we're taking.

Your first one is one of my favorite 4 Rounds for the Chiefs, I would side more towards Derek Rivers in the 2nd though.

2nd one I wouldn't complain about either, don't really see anyone I'd want too much more than Juju so I'd stick with that pick even though it's not a pressing need

We do though. Trent Murphy is suspended 4 games. Junior Gallete hasn't played for 2 years due to his consecutive Achilles injuries, plus he just recently got arrested, so who knows if he'll even be eligible to play even if he's healthy - anything we get out of him will be a pleasant surprise. So that leaves Kerrigan and Preston Smith. Kerrigan is solid, but Smith had a down year last season. We're all hoping he can turn it around, but it's a big question mark. Even with all these guys healthy and performing well, we have no speed rushers on the team; no one that will put legitimate fear into a QB from the edge. So yea, an edge player (preferably a speed rusher) is a top need.

When it comes to your mocks, I like the 1st one a lot better than the 2nd. If you want my long-winded explanation for why I would hate drafting a RB in the 1st round, go check the Draft forum for the Redskins pick in the FF mock.

This would be a decent haul for the Cardinals.

Carolina Panthers
Mock Draft #1
8. Carolina Panthers - Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford
(40). Carolina Panthers - John Ross, WR, Washington
(64). Carolina Panthers from New England Patriots - Taylor Moton, OL, Western Michigan
(9Cool. Carolina Panthers (Compensatory Selection) - Josh Johnson, S, Boston College
(115). Carolina Panthers - Corn Elder, CB, Miami

Mock Draft #2
8. Carolina Panthers - Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford
(40). Carolina Panthers - Obi Melifonwu, S, Connecticut
(64). Carolina Panthers from New England Patriots - D’onta Foreman, RB, Texas
(9Cool.

First draft is acceptable, but meh. I don't mind McCaffrey, but the rest is just...meh. Not bad, just uninspiring.

The second mock, though....sexual. Love it. I'd be THRILLED if those first two picks happened. However, with the latter 2nd, I think we'd go Perine over Foreman. I also don't see us taking Westbrook. Sidney Jones there, maybe?

4/23 Edit: I realize Reuben Foster is going to fall given his failed test at the combine, but I don't want to take the time to edit both mock drafts to reflect that. I just wanted to leave this comment here in case someone looks back at this mock draft with a critical eye.

I would very much like to inquire about that. To me, I look at speed receiver as very possibly the Panthers top need although not one they will address at #8 imo. If they miss out on John Ross as they did in the second mock draft, I would think they would almost be forced to draft someone like Dede Westbrook, Josh Malone or KD Cannon in the mid rounds. Why don't you see the Panthers taking Westbrook? Question

Pretty good for Cleveland in first draft with the exception of Peppers.

Same thing for 2nd draft with the exception of Trib.

Off-field concerns. We don't take those guys, generally. I could easily see us taking a speedy receiver, just not Dede.

Mock #1 for Dallas is awful. Watt/King/Peppers/Obi/White all better. Mock 2 is good

I'm just not a fan of Tanoh. This year they will forgo the tall DE if he can get to the QB.

I like Adams/Kizer. Imo kizer will be a better pro than college qb.

27. Kansas City Chiefs - Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State
(59). Kansas City Chiefs - Zay Jones, WR, Eastern Carolina
(91). Kansas City Chiefs - Nico Siragusa, G, San Jose State
(104). Kansas City Chiefs (Compensatory Selection) - Jourdan Lewis, CB, Michigan
(132). Kansas City Chiefs - Brad Kaaya, QB, Miami

Interesting approach. Ka'aya is the preferred mid-round QB, though I doubt he lasts 100 picks, much less 130.
Cook is sliding enough to be interesting and the hope-for players did not. Maybe, but not with Zay Jones in the second. They already have Tyreek Hill. Gerald Everett makes more sense.
Siragusa is a bit early, better at #104 and take Witherspoon here, avoiding the charater issues on Lewis.

27. Kansas City Chiefs - Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson
(59). Kansas City Chiefs - Joe Mixon, RB, Oklahoma
(91). Kansas City Chiefs - Juju Smith Schuster, WR, USC
(104). Kansas City Chiefs (Compensatory Selection) - Sidney Jones, CB, Washington
(132). Kansas City Chiefs - Danny Isidora, G, Miami

Yuck. I am not a fan of Watson at #27, but it seems to be the consensus.
Mixon is badly wrong. I have him as do not draft but, at minimum, he's two or more rounds early. The domestic violence issues are far worse than Hills, and TH lasted until round 5.
What is it with the WR? It is not a priority position. ILB is. CB is. OG is, but not WR. Lose Schuster. Watkins, Qualls, Witherspoon are all much better, not to mention Siragusa again.
Jones at this point is a good pick and Isidora will do.
