Apologies if we have a podcast thread going already. I searched back a few pages and googled and only found massively old threads.

So what are your favourites? What are you subscribed to?

I'm relatively new to the format, but here's my list:

Dan Carlin's Hardcore History - Amazing podcasts about all sorts of historical stuff. His multi-episode shows on groups like the Persian Empire (Kings of Kings) and the Mongols (Wrath of the Khans) are just fantastic.

Serial - Most podcast listeners have probably heard of this. Gripping series about an investigative journalist looking into a suspicious murder case from 15 years ago. I just started it this week and can't stop listening.

Nerdist - Interviews with comedians, actors and the like about nerdy stuff. Often really entertaining and funny.

The Fall of Rome - About the fall of the Roman Empire. Interesting stuff if you're interested in that period.

Revisionist History - Malcolm Gladwell's podcast about trying to look at past events/people/ideas in a different way.

I'll have to check out that Serial, that sounds interesting. When I'm listening to a podcast, its usually just something Bears related.

Loved the first season. Actually listened to it again last week while traveling.

2nd season? Well, I liked it. Lot of people didn't. Not nearly as good as the first.

If you like Serial, check out S-Town. Much shorter (7 episodes vs 10+) but it's just...well... can't even describe it. Probably my favorite podcast (granted, don't listen to many outside of Serial and stuff from This American Life).

Highly recommend S-Town.

Accused is another one along the same lines. Also very good.

I also listen to a bunch of NPR stuff. Planet Money, How i Built This, Tell Me Something I Don't Know, Invisibilia, TED Radio Hour, and Snap Judgement.

Another one i enjoy is The Moth Podcast. It's a story telling podcast, similar to Snap Judgement, just less produced.

I also listen to Freakonomics.

I've listened to Filmspotting for a while, but I'm trying out The Collider Podcast and Mad About Movies now because Filmspotting is starting to get a little too snooty.

Most of my other ones are sports related:

Fantasy Football Focus
Best of the Herd, show works much better over 40 minutes
MLB Pipeline
Baseball America
D1 Baseball Podcast is good for college baseball along with BA
CBS Sports Eye on College Basketball
First Draft is only part of the year
Bucknuts Morning 5 is good for Ohio State news

I just added Dan Carlin's Hardcore History, it sounds interesting. Best of the Herd and the Bucknuts morning 5 are the only ones I listen to on a quasi-daily basis. BM5 while I'm driving home from work, and The Herd while I'm getting stuff ready for the next day each night.

Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast, The FF Ballers, The GaryVee Audio Experience, and Steve Austin's are good.

A ton I check out just depending on the guest, but regularly I listen to...

Joe Rogan Experience
Congratulations w/ Chris D'Elia
Monday Morning Podcast w/ Bill Burr
Tigerbelly w/ Bobby Lee
Your Mom's House w/ Tom Segura & his wife
Doug Stanhope Podcast
Fighter & The Kid w/ Bryan Callen & Brendan Schaub

Probably forgetting something. Really only comedy podcasts sans Rogan & F&TK.. and those are p much comedy most the time.

If I'm on the computer or driving I pretty much always got a podcast going on. Right now I think Chris D'Elia has the funniest podcast going on.

It's since disbanded and got a new group of dudes, but Ten Minute Podcast made me legitimately laugh harder than anything I've ever heard. It kinda sucks now, but when it was D'Elia, Bryan Callen & Will Sasso mannnn. Was the best podcast ever man, still sad that's done. Only podcast where I actually re-listen to episodes.

The only ones I'm subscribed to are

Uplifting only - The Radio Podcast
PFF Pro Football - Draft
Locked on NFL Draft

And that's basically it. I've been seeking out episodes of Disney themed podcasts for any content regarding The World of Pandora, but I don't listen to those regularly.

The only one I listen to regularly is Joe Rogans podcast.

I listen to a bunch of NFL Draft Podcasts during draft season to learn about prospects but I never listen to podcasts during the actual season.
