This is a tough blow. I heard they will update his status when training camp kicks off with an expected time for return. |

Joe Dahl and Cornelius Lucas took reps at LT with the first team. Storm Norton took 2nd team reps.
The team likes Dahl and Lucas hasn't been terrible when he's been given reps. Norton looked good for Toledo, he will have a legit shot to compete for reps at LT. Regardless of who covers for Decker, I would expect them to have a lot of help either with Fells lined up next to them or with a RB helping on that side. _________________

Wait. You think Jack Conklin is worse than Taylor Decker
I admit I was joking about trading up but I would absolutely prefer Conklin if he was there over Decker _________________

Yeah not sure id put either as elite just yet... but I do feel Conklin had a better rookie season and will have a better career. He may have played RT but theres where he was needed. I think he could have just as easily played LT and been as good if not better than Decker. _________________

Conklin was arguably the best RT in the NFL last year. _________________

I'm extremely satisfied with the pick of Decker, and I would rather have him and more draft picks than trade up for Conklin. Both are good young OTs to be honest. Why get salty that we have one instead of the other? |

If u are referring to me it was a joke at first. Obviously Decker + picks over Conklin seems the best bet right now but then he said Conklin was worse than Decker and I am not sure why he would think that lol _________________

Honestly, pretty damn close. Don't care if both played just one year, they played at an elite level for the majority of it in my eyes. _________________ Team Stylish

I watched Conklin against my son in high school and he was a monster. My son got him once when he got real low and under him but when he tried it a second time and a 3rd he was put into the ground. Conklin is an upcoming elite LT. By the way, my son did get around him that one time hit the QB forced a fumble and the blitzing safety picked it up and scored. Decker in my opinion is and upcoming elite LT also but I believe his athleticism is a notch higher and that is high praise coming from a UofM grad. Decker was a great pick and one that Detroit will cherish for the next decade. Decker will be back this year and he will be just as dominant. He was the best rookie LT last year and one of the better ones in the league and I expect him to continue that success. I truly think that Storm has a chance to impress in this opportunity he is going to work for. Undrafted does not mean untalented so to speak. Many players go undrafted because they seem to measure on just numbers and not the actual play. Yes, GM's and Scouts can overlook players and get caught up in the statistical numbers of pro days and combines. In this new era of scouting and numbers and sabermetrics, they have yet to find a way to measure heart. _________________ You Mix it up and I'll drink it, I am the Kool-Aid Man. |
