| Anyone have any info on the William Green to the Giants rumor? Last I heard it was Green for a 5th or 6th round pick. |

| We better not get rid of him for lower than a 3rd rounder... there shouldnt be anyone that thinks he's a bad RB.... He's not worth losing for a 5th or 6th |

We would be lucky if we got anything at all for him. He is on his way out, and if we can get anything for him, even a 6th rounder, we should take it.
The reason we would be lucky, is that he is one [inappropriate/removed] test away from a one year suspension. That is a very big risk for any team, and greatly deflates his trade value. He'll probably be cut, so anything would be better than nothing in return.
We could use the pick on Dustin Colquitt or Matt Payne. Payne would be better because he can do it all. He punted, kicked field goals and kicked off for BYU last year. Or we could use the pick as compensation for signing Chester Taylor, RFA RB from Baltimore. |

agreed - if we only got a 4th rounder for Warren, we would be lucky to get a 6th for Green. _________________

Green's gotta go. I dont care if we get a half eaten bag of Funions for him. Its a shame, I was so enthusiastic after the 2nd half of his rookie season, remember that 78-yard run against the Falcons? I was there for that, best Browns game since the early 90s.
but he is a nut-case, pothead. Who is not a very good running back. I see him doing very well on a team with a great O-line (no surprise there).
I hope we get rid of him and I hope we dont siign Chester Taylor. . . .
You all know how I feel about Ronnie Brown. |

| A fifth or 6th rounder would be a great deal to get rid of a quitter. He totally quit at the end of the year, good ridance. I always liked chester taylor if we get him for the right price he can beat out suggs. |

What the heck does that mean? So you have a running back who is fairly decent, at least mediocre for this league, and you want to sign another player, but you don't want him to be good, you want him to be worse than the mediocre talent then you already have, wtf?
If we sign taylor I hope he beats out Suggs and then posts a 1500+ yard season, and Suggs doesn't get any carries, at all. That would be why we would sign Taylor, why try to sign a guy hoping that he is just going to sit on the bench all year?

| No Ronnie Brown... Suggs is a great player... I dont know why he gets all this mediocre crap when he has proven himself... He runs well even with NO O-line... Chester Taylor is good, but I would want Suggs to get most of the carries because he is much much better... |

I agree with both of you-- Suggs is a solid back, just needs a line, a QB, a passing game...anything! I also believe Ronnie Brown is a solid back. You guys are in a tough situation, you are in prime position to get him, but without a great need for him it would be a waste with all the other holes you have. _________________

Suggs ran for 744 yards last year with:
a) Limited Carries in games he was in
b) Only 10 games played, 3 started
c) A terrible OLine
d) no passing game to speak of
e) a terrible offensive scheme
Given all of that... Suggs deserves at least a shot at being a star. _________________ The Brownie: The best logo for the Cleveland Browns, EVER! |

My head is spinning here, kids. Let's review:
No one has heard anything about William Green being traded to the Giants, right? (That was the question, after all.)
Some of you feel that we would be lucky to get anything for Green, considering he is one dirty drop from a year's suspension. (You are right, incidentally.)
Most of you think Lee Suggs should be given a chance to be the featured back. (You are right as well.)
One of you thinks Lee Suggs is a "great" back. Whoa there Tiger. Lee Suggs is a little too small, a lot injury prone and has put up numbers only after it no longer mattered the last couple of years. Not to mention a fumbling problem that would make Tony Banks blush. Suggs will get his shot, but let's not go crazy.
And Ronnie Brown? Yeah he's the best back in the draft, but be wary of guys who seem to get better when they're not actually playing games. Best case scenerio is Ronnie slips to #3 and the resulting bidding war nets the Browns two extra first day picks.
By the way, any news on the William Green trade yet? Just asking.

Word is the Giants got cold feet and decided to sign Mike Cloud to back up Tiki.
So no go.
Now we wait for the announcement of his release. |
