I've been hearing Kellen Clemens is rising all the way into the 2nd round. Most teams have him as the 4th best QB. His senior numbers are outstanding for the amount of games he's played in and he seems fully healed now. I don't think anybody will disagree with me that he fits our offense perfectly. He completes over 80% of his passes when they are thrown 10 yards or less and he has a great arm for the occasional fly route. Tell me what you think of this mock.

1. Winston Justice OT
2. Kellen Clemens QB
3. Pat Watkins FS
4. Tony Scheffler TE
5. Patrick Ross C
6. Matt Bernstein FB
7. Justin London ILB

This mock is intended for those who want the cards to pick a QB early in the draft. You don't have to like the other picks, I'm just showing you guys it could work out well with Clemens in the 2nd.

Clemens is a huge reach in the 2nd...

above him are...

croyle
whitehurst
jacobs
gradkowski
olsen
clemens

whitehurst and olsen are also perfect for our system...the complete very high numbers of passes and is able to squeeze into tight spaces...

clemens is an option in the 5th or 6th round along with olsen...i dont really think anyone will consider him in th 2nd

Cards-

Clemons has performed very well in workouts and position drills and is now considered a late 2nd/early 3rd round guy. The New York Jets have taken considerable interest.

well let them then i dont think we should

Kellen is an extremely hard worker, who earns the respect of his teammates and leads by example. He has become a better pocket passer this season (until his injury), and was hitting better on his timing routes. Cons: Kellen lacks ideal arm strength and struggles with deep passes. He tends to pull the ball down and run to quickly, he will need to improve his decidion making. He can be rattled and knocked off his game. Poise in the pocket will be the key to any further success at the next level. Overall: Kellen grades out to be anywhere from the 6th rounder to an undrafted free agent. His work ethic and leadership skills should earn him a spot somewhere. A team with patience could benefit by adding him, he can develop into a solid back up.

Cards-

You might want to check the date that was posted, a lot's changed. He's considered the 4th/5th best QB right now.

so what has he done to change his rating

wasnt he injured all of last year

there is no film no nothing for him to skyrocket up the draft charts

if we take him in the 2nd i will not watch the rest of the draft i will be p.o.ed

but anyhow thats just my opinion

No he didn't miss the entire season and his stats are elite level. Only thing that had kept him down was the injury concerns and his tremendous workouts have silenced those concerns, thus his ever improving draft stock.

I didn't say we would or should pick him, I'm just saying he's risen way past a day 2 pick.

I do like the fact that he's very accurate and puts a great touch on the ball.

I agree with that list but more things come into play than just need.
