Not a fan of this pick, we need help in the secondary not 2 DT's.

he was the best player left on the board, but we already have watson so he wasnt really a need, i dont think he'll be getting much playing behind docket, clancy, and now watson.

NFL draft countdown gave him a day 1 grade so he's definitely great value where we got him, the problem is we're pretty stacked at DT with Dockett, Clancy and now Watson and we're paper thin at FS and CB.

another reason this might be a good pick is because darnell dockets contract is up after the season and if we cant resign him then we have lewis.

but hopefully we sign docket

Ifwe can't resign Dockett it will be as a huge a loss as we've suffered in years. He is a RFA though so we'd get compensation for him.

I don't mind the pick but Demario Minter could have made a solid nickleback.

That was my thinking as well.

Secondary or KR has to be addressed in the 7th.

Height: 6-1 1/8 | Weight: 309 | 40-Time: 5.05

Strengths:
Has a solid and compact build...Very disruptive and excels at getting into and making plays in the backfield...Explosive, quick and athletic...Has a good burst to close on the ball carrier...Moves well and makes plays laterally...Smart and locates the ball well...Tough player with good strength...Unyielding and has a motor that never quits...Is experienced and durable...Works hard and is a team leader.

Weaknesses:
Doesn't have the height you look for...Has major trouble when he has to go head-to-head against massive offensive lineman...Struggles to hold his ground at the point of attack and is not a great run defender...Really lacks a wide base to anchor...Needs to hit the weight room and strengthen his lower-half...Probably needs to be in the right type of defensive scheme to succeed in the pros.

Notes:
Didn't get a lot of attention but Lewis was one of the best interior defensive linemen in the country...Was very consistent throughout his career...Would fit in best with a team that prefers smaller defensive tackles that can penetrate.

We really found our backups for our DT. Watson to backup Clancy and Lewis to back up Dockett.
