Well, I know that it was against Kent St. but I was impressed by our running offense. People were worried that with the loss of Eslinger and Stennerstrom and Maroney and Russell that we wouldn't have a running game. I guess that maybe we will have one. I think that it is really going to come down the defensive play. I think that we will be able to score with the best of them, but the defense may not be able to stop anyone. _________________ Gnat's Movie Reviews

| Quote: | After forcing the Golden Flashes into a three-and-out on their next possession, the Gophers upped their lead to 14-0 on Daniels’ first career touchdown. The recent linebacker turned running back scored from three yards out to give the Maroon and Gold the two touchdown advantage. The scoring drive went 54 yards, 30 of them from Daniels, on eight plays.
On their next possession, the Gophers went 75 yards in 17 plays on a drive that took 7:44 off the clock. Daniels again powered the Minnesota offense with runs of 11, nine and seven yards on the drive.
Minnesota’s dominance continued in the second half as the Gophers took the opening kickoff and drove 56 yards in on seven rushes by Daniels. The drive culminated with Daniels plunging in from one-yard out for his second score of the game, giving the Gophers the 24-0 lead.
Minnesota took advantage of the turnover and proceeded to score on their fifth straight possession. Set up by a 35-yard pass completion from Cupito to tight end Matt Spaeth (Albertville, Minn.) and an 18-yard run from Pinnix, Daniels scored his third touchdown of the game from six yards out. The Gophers took just 2:26 to go 77 yards on seven plays plays to take a 31-0 lead. |

Sounds too me like we got a starting runningback. I cannot wait to see him play. _________________

Theses are the guys we need to have big years, Loses of Gary Russel and Laurence Maroney and More from our defence really hurt us, these guys have to have a great season so maybe we can make the top 20, also at this pace we might still have are 2 1,000 yard RB _________________ Artist Of The Month of February

^^^ Ha ha, wouldn't that be something. Honestly though, I didn't watch the game so I have no idea if Daniels is going to be a legit Big 10 runningback, or if he just overpowered Kent State players. _________________ -- Kansas State University, 2013 -- |

Okay, so week 1's just about in the books and the Big 10 went a combined 11-0. Impressive, even though they were warm up games.
Big 10 - 11-0
ACC - 7-5 (Miami vs. FSU tomorrow, one has to lose)
Big 12 - 9-1
Big East - 6-1
PAC 10 - 6-2
SEC - 7-2
^^^ That's assuming my math's correct. But still, we've been by far the most dominant conference this week and I hope we can keep it up next weekend at California. _________________ -- Kansas State University, 2013 -- |

I didn't see any of todays game...
Sounds like Daniels made quite an impression. And he's huge (6-3, 265). My question now is he fast and can he make some people miss? If so, this could turn into a great move for Mason. Be curious to see how he does once we hit the Big Ten _________________

I'm right there with you. I had football practice and I doubt it was even televised in Kansas.
About Daniels, I think he's there to stay. His running style is my only concern, because what works against Kent State doesn't necessarily work against Ohio State. _________________ -- Kansas State University, 2013 -- |

Cal is going to be a very tough game next week. They lost to Tennesee so they're 0-1. I think that the Gophers will play hard but most likely lose. Hopefully Daniels and Pinnix can be affevtive and if that happens we have a chance but I really don't think we're going to win this one. I think the final score will be about 35-20. _________________
