oh, those poor, poor ny jets fans...
i went over to their forum and look what they've been saying about cowart for the last week or more BEFORE today's trade:
I just read on sports illastrated that he's asked the team to trade or release him. What do you think we could realisticly get for him? A 3rd round pick perhaps.
Get rid of Sam Cowart. He is worth too much. If we trade him we will have even more cap space to go after a quality CB like Fred Smoot.
I think we just need to find a team that is desperate enough, such as...say...the Rams. Maybe we could work out a deal with them for a 3rd and 5th, or 3rd and 6th. |

| actually though i personally think it was a huge steal was talking to my cousin who is a big Jets fan and he said that he didn't care as long as they got rid of him because he was just taking up cap space now that vilma had become so good but i personally think it was a huge steal |

Actually....
Now that out linebacking core is set, we can probly trade the 7th pick and Bennet for Boldin and like a 5th. We could throw in a 3rd rounder for good measure too. _________________

Hahaha that was hilarious. Man, we've been torturing the Jets for some time now. Literally stealing Winfield, now this.
Cowart is worth far more than a 7th round pick, but this isnt the case here. Its similar to why the Ravens gave up only a 2nd round pick for TO last year. The Jets knew he wasnt going to play for them, and their last move would be releasing him. WHy not trade him and at least get something? This way they at least got a pick, even if its a 7th rounder, its still better than nothing. _________________ Equal Opportunity Hater

What is up with trading Bennet? People know that he is not that great. I would expect the Vikes to trade their 7th pick and maybe a third rounder for Bolden, but even that is farfetched. Bolden is a great wide out, and Denny Green probably won't want to part with him. _________________

| Boldin is not worth the 7thn pick. I would understand if i was Boldin and the 8n for Bennet and the 7th. that would be cool. I would understand that. I would even throw in another pick(lower round). |
