1) Oakland Raiders
Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame
Walter had his shot and proved he isn't the man...Brooks was brought in as a short term solution and can play in 07 while Brady learns.
2) Miami Dolphins
Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech
Maybe a little bit of a shocker here but the WR corps of Miami can be improved upon vastly.
3) Detroit Lions
Brian Brohm, QB, Louisville
High Risk High reward. Harrington busted and Kitna is a short term solution.
4) Arizona Cardinals
Jared Gaither, OT, Maryland
Probably expecting to see Joe Thomas here and although Thomas is more polished...One simply cant deny an OT that's 6'9" 350 with quick feet.
5) Tennessee Titans
Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin
Vince Young will need all the time he can get...and with receiver being fairly deep they can address that in round 2.
6) Houston Texans
Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma
I don't see how some of the other mocks can put a S here. Sure Landry makes sense...but they really need a quality back that can carry the load... Priorities people!!!
7) Cleveland Browns
Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson
Tough call because Cleveland can use a lot of help...But I think their offense is getting better and they need another solid playmaker on defense.
8) Green Bay Packers
Levi Brown, OT, Penn State
Rogers is gonna need some protection in a hurry if he wants to make an impact...Brown can play OT or OG where ever he's needed he's gonna help.
9) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Quentin Moses, DE, Georgia
Making this pick with so much Offensive talent probably kills Gruden.... But defense is getting older and can no longer be over looked.
10) Buffalo Bills
Sam Baker, OT, USC
Losman made some progress this year and has the receivers but needs a little better protection. Baker can help immediately.
11) San Francisco 49ers
Dwayne Jarrett, WR, USC
Gore and Smith showed a lot of potential this year but a true number 1 WR is the next step to restore 49ers glory.
12) Washington Redskins
Paul Posluszny, OLB, Penn State
Skins are always tough to predict since they prefer FA to the draft...But they take the best LB in this years class to help the defense become more dominate.
13) Kansas City Chiefs
Antoine Cason, CB, Arizona
Herm loves his defense and Law is almost gone....Cason can learn a year before starting.
14) Pittsburgh Steelers
Frank Okam, DT, Texas
Best DT in the class so far...Pittsburgh knows the value of a strong defense.
15) New York Jets
Marshawn Lynch, RB, California
Leon did well but he isn't a true franchise back. Martin will retire and Barlow is a bust. Time to upgrade.
16) Dallas Cowboys
Drew Stanton, QB, Michigan
Surprise pick here... but Romo is a solid back up and Parcells knows that Bledsoe is no longer the man.
17) Minnesota Vikings
Laron Landry, S, LSU
This pick is going to Atlanta for Schaub. But if no deal can be reached they take the best player available.
18) Jacksonville Jaguars
Michael Bush, RB, Louisville
They kept Fragile Fred around way too long and now its time to bring in a new RB that can carry the load.
19) Atlanta Falcons
Brandon Meriweather S, Miami,FL
No glaring needs they can afford to get some depth.
20) Cincinnati Bengals
Alan Branch, DT, Michigan
Offense will be fine but the frong 4 needs help in the worst way.
21) New Orleans Saints
Leon Hall, CB, Michigan
Saints really bounced back after last season but secondary is still a need.
22) Philadelphia Eagles
Lamar Woodley, DE/OLB, Michigan
Eagles probably could use a RB but none are worth it at this point. LB is next on their list.
23) Baltimore Ravens
Ted Ginn, WR, Ohio State
Yes they have Mason but hes at the end of his career and Ginn is excellent value right here.
24) New York Giants
Kenny Irons, RB, Auburn
With Tiki thinking retirement a successor must be found....Jacobs is great at shot distance and even as a change of pace RB but he remains a big questionmark.
25) St. Louis Rams
Sidney Rice, WR, South Carolina
Bruce has definitely lost a step and Rice has a lot of talent to fill in with out the offense missing a beat.
26) San Diego Chargers
Jeff Samardzija, WR, Notre Dame
If he gives up baseball and comes to teh NFL the Chargers would love to have a legitimate threat. Especially after the Woods disaster.
27) New England Patriots (via Seattle)
Buster Davis, ILB, Florida State
With back to back picks the Pats can get some help with their LBs
28) New England Patriots
Michael Griffin, S, Texas
Secondary has been the only real sore spot on this team.
29)Carolina Panthers
Doug Free, OT, Northern Illinois University
Offensive line still needs some depth
30) Denver Broncos
Charles Johnson, DE, Georgia
Denver Loves their defense and Johnson can start right away
31) Indianapolis Colts
H.B. Blades, LB, Pittsburgh
I can see some defensive losses in FA and Blades may start sooner rather then later
32) Chicago Bears
Justin Blalock, OG/OT, Texas
Rex is ok when hes not recovering from an injury _________________

I Love Jared but i think we can trade back and still get him...
A LOT of people will be champing at the bit to get AP so i think we may take him and then trade his rights to a team who selects Jared Gaither (Green Bay????) and Additonal Picks Ala Manning and Rivers _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

Most of the teams in the top 10 would love an OT thats 6'9 350 and runs a reported 4.8 40
Big risk to move down.
and I guess I should say I am not projecting trades till after the season. _________________

We can't afford to go offense in the first round, Cason or Landry would be the pick there. _________________

Hypothetically speaking... Gaither is available, the Browns don't take him.... That makes me a saaaaaaaaaaaaaaad panda. haha.
But seriously, that would be like the worst-case scenario for the browns... Everyone worth a high pick that is at a need position for us are all taken right before us _________________

Actually the standings as of right now would have us picking ahead of the Texans. Hou. 2-4 Clev. 1-5 _________________ "happiness is knowing in early February that you'll be drafting #32 in late April" |

Bad pick in the situation...
We need more of a RT anyway instead of a LT.
I don't think that we could pass on Adrian Peterson if he is there when it comes to our pick but if we don't go with AP then Gaines Adams is a better pick as well... _________________

R&G -
If the Titans don't want him we'll be happy to have 'em.
I don't see us going after Gaines - sort of in the same mold as Wimbley who we picked number one last year. We don't need that many OLB/DE players. |

Great pick there. Actually if the Titians didnt want Joe Thomas at 5. Miami could even trade down to there and get Thomas from them and a 2nd or 1st next year or something. But I would love Calvin Johnson playing in Aqua and Orange next year. Johnson + Chambers would be a pair of WR's to recon with |

Just one thing that I would point out about the Vikings pick. The pick itself is good, but there is no way that we are trading for Schaub after drafting Tavaris Jackson. He was drafted to be the QB of the future, and if the future is next season, he is going to get his shot. So we wouldn't trade away our first round pick for a back up QB. _________________ Gnat's Movie Reviews

Not a bad draft, but I dont agree with a few picks:
Detroit and Cleveland: both need help at other positions first. Plus both these teams had bad success selecting #1 picks at these positions which might get them a little gun shy.
I think the only way Dallas goes after QB in the first is if they can figure out a way to get Brady Quinn. Jerry would love to see him in Big D.

I don't think Gaines Adams is a good pick for a 3/4 DE. I also think that offensive tackle is a much bigger need. _________________ You show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser
