I love Willis as well. I do want him and I wouldn't be upset with taking him at number 2 even though it is not great value. I was also thinking for people that want a saftey...we could wait till next year and hope Kenny Phillips is there and we could improve our D dramatically.

We need a SS, why not take Landry.

Willis is a good player.

Coverage skills can be taught to someone. Its not that hard.

Landry is a FS and is much better suited there. Its probable not difficult to switch from free to strong; but, he's definately a FS. Hold on, why is SS a need, anyway? We have KK tangled up in a contract and he's making too much to be sitting on the bench. OLB maybe a possibility for him, like I said earlier but its not likely.

I really hope the Lions can pick this guy up. He's the kind of player we need. He's got a great heart and the desire to be great. I hope Marinelli gets to meet with him and find out what this guy is all about. He seems to have a great love for the game. I think being the SEC defensive player of the year says alot about him (especially with Landry, Nelson, Jamaal Anderson and others). We must realize that the people who vote for this award are the coaches that see him weekly and must scheme against him, of anyone I would think they would know him best!! I hope he does really well at the combine and his stock soars, or we get a few trade offers to move down and grab him. Here's a good article on him....

Willis fits the cover 2 very well. Maybe he isn't great in coverage, but he is not at all a liability. It's not like coverage is his weekness it's just not a strength.

from the previous article
Quote:
Detillier said Willis' most impressive feat has been his work ethic despite Ole Miss' struggles. The Rebels have won six of 22 games the past two seasons, but the losses never seemed to alter Willis' play.

He is perfect for the lions. He was part of a losing program, but still went beyond %100 effort in practice and in games. That is what the lions need if they ever dream to be a successfull team.

Daymeion Hughes has stud written all over him.

8 INT's this year alone?

Can someone please explain to me why everyone is projecting him in the 2nd round? I scouted him one game this season and was blown away by his natural instincts as a corner.

It's a bit of a muddled and talented CB field, with all the scouting sites having their personal favorites. He'll move up as we get closer to the draft.
